In this crazy year, it won’t be possible for us to gather down at the river for music, food, and float trips like we have in years past. But we at Amigos Bravos have been very busy this year in spite of the pandemic, and we would like to invite you to our “2020 Virtual Rally for the Rio” and hear about what’s up with Amigos Bravos’ work and with water policy in New Mexico. This virtual rally is scheduled for Thursday, September 17th at 5PM and we expect it to last about an hour.
You can join via Zoom or telephone at this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/8015983845793/WN_8UmsVMtSSbSAYD5JIXCD8g
The event will also be live streamed on the Amigos Bravos Facebook page.
You will hear from Amigos Bravos staff and our Board chairman, Francisco Guevara, about the work of Amigos Bravos and some of our most urgent initiatives. We are also pleased to feature a discussion by New Mexico House Representative Melanie Stansbury, a real champion for water protection in the New Mexico legislature, about water policy initiatives that are under development. It won’t just be “talking heads,” we have a couple of fun and informative short videos to share with you as well!
I would also like to note that we have just launched our 2020 Challenge Match. A generous donor has offered a dollar-for-dollar match for up to $10,000 for contributions received by September 30th. If you are able, please consider making a contribution through the end of September and unlocking this match!
Click the Green Donate button on the upper right-hand corner of this page to donate to our 2020 Challenge Match securely online.
You can now donate to Amigos Bravos using either PayPal or a major credit card. Due to COVID-19, we opted out of a snail mail Challenge Match appeal (too risky handling so many envelopes), but if you prefer to donate by mail you can send your check to:
Amigos Bravos | PO Box 238 | Taos, NM 87571
Last but not least, we are sponsoring a Virtual Rivers and Lands Cleanup, which we will discuss at the Virtual Rally. More information about the cleanup is provided on this flyer. Click for more information.
