In memoriam of an Amigo Bravo, Ron Rinker. Ron and his husband Jay lived next to the Rio Grande in Embudo for many years, and in good weather he frequently kayaked and swam in its welcoming waters. Ron and Jay were supportive of the mission of Amigos Bravos, and Jay served on our Board of Directors. When Ron passed away, Jay and his other loved ones sailed Ron’s ashes down the Rio Grande “to the other side.” Ron hoped his contribution would help Amigos Bravos continue its diligent work to preserve the Rio Grande and the lives that celebrate its waters every day.
