We have a vision of New Mexico’s rivers and streams running so clear and clean that you can bend a knee to the water, cup your hands, and drink without fear.

Tell the Carson Forest to Maintain Wild and Scenic River Protections

The Carson National Forest in New Mexico is currently taking comments on their draft forest-wide plan components and their draft Wild and Scenic River Evaulation. Unfortunately the Carson is proposing to drastically reduce the number of rivers deemed eligible for Wild and Scenic protections.

In addition to opposing the Carson's Wild and Scenic Evaluation, Amigos Bravos is working to make sure both the Valle Vidal Unit and high priority wetlands called "Wetland Jewels"  get specific and focused management plans that will ensure the health of these important ecosystems.

Please take some time to write a letter to the Carson letting them know that you oppose reducing Wild and Scenic River protections and support management areas for the Valle Vidal and Wetland Jewels.
